The large Dutch football club PSV has signed a partnership agreement with a crypto exchange and its sponsorship is paid entirely in Bitcoin. “PSV is the first club in the EU to receive the sponsorship amount in crypto currency,” said the football club.
PSV Professional Football Club becomes Bitcoin ‘Hodl’
The major Dutch football club PSV, also known as PSV Eindhoven, announced on Tuesday that it will hodel Bitcoin with the help of the Anycoin Direct crypto exchange. The professional sports club from Eindhoven, Netherlands, plays in the Eredivisie, the top division of Dutch football.
“PSV has signed a unique partnership with Anycoin Direct,” reads the announcement details, adding:
The entire sponsorship amount is paid out in Bitcoin. PSV is the first club in the EU to receive the sponsorship amount in cryptocurrency.
The club worked with crypto technology for the first time earlier this year to sell a non-fungible token (NFT) from its 1988 European Cup 1 final win against Benfica.
Anycoin Direct, a local startup from the Eindhoven region, will be the “official partner of PSV for the next two seasons,” the club confirmed, adding: “The main goal is to raise awareness of crypto and Anycoin Direct in Europe . “Anycoin Direct offers the purchase and sale of 28 cryptocurrencies.

As a club in the heart of the Brainport region, we are always innovative, cryptocurrency fits this picture well. ”The announcement from PSV adds that Janssen created bitcoin wallets immediately after signing the contract with Anycoin Direct to facilitate the partnership agreement .
